MFEE is the local education fund that supports the Montclair Public Schools. Since 1991, this independent nonprofit has raised private dollars to empower students, teachers, and the Montclair community, with the overall goal of helping the district provide a high-quality education for all students.
MFEE's core principle is that collaborative networks - between educators, families and individuals, community groups and local businesses - best contribute to the success of an educational community.
Designing fundraising events that strengthen community support for our schools.
Administering grant programs that nurture innovative ideas from school personnel.
Providing administrative and technical support to school and community organizations.
Launching district-wide initiatives that address broader systemic needs, such as after-school tutoring and arts education.
Masiel is an education junkie. She comes from a family of public school advocates, and she was an elementary public school teacher in the early 90s. She pursued a circuitous path to MFEE - law school, program associate at a family foundation, director of a youth philanthropy program, amateur filmmaker, and nonprofit consultant with organizations serving vulnerable youth.
She never lost her curiosity about quality teaching, and she is having the time of her life observing and supporting the excellent teaching that occurs in Montclair Public Schools (MPS).
As mom to four MPS students, she is deeply grateful that her circuitous path led her to Montclair.
In 2000, Robin came on board to help with the 1st MFEE All-Adult Town-Wide Spelling Bee event. She stayed ever since!
You can find Robin handling day-to-day operations and playing a key role in all MFEE events, especially our signature event, the Toast to the Teachers. Both of Robin's children attended Montclair schools, and she served as PTA president, PTA Council VP, and on the Board of Education's District Leadership team.
