We're proud to announce that Maya Karuna Savoie, an MHS Senior and MFEE Junior Board Member, is celebrating the publication of her book, "The Lore of Ramridge," at Watchung Booksellers on Thursday, October 25th, at 7pm.
"The Lore of Ramridge" is a suspenseful, action-packed thriller about a curious boy who defies his parents, and ends up the hero of a spooky adventure in a corn maze. The Lore of Ramridge targets the middle grade to young adult reader, but is suitable for all ages.
Maya learned about philanthropy as an MFEE Junior Board member and wants to give back! For every book sold at Watchung Booksellers, Maya will donate $1 to MFEE!
We're so proud of you Maya!

MFEE awarded a grant to Mr. Stulbaum at Renaissance Middle School for a hydroponic and outdoor garden. We made a "grants in action" visit to see the hydroponic garden back in November. At the time, the students had planted the seedlings and were beginning to see some growth.
Mr. Stulbaum sent these photos this week to show us the progress. From the hydroponic and outdoor garden, Renaissance was able to deliver 8 lbs. of lettuce to Toni's Kitchen!
Founded in 2013 with generous support from Partners for Health, the DIGS program helps all eleven public schools create, maintain, and enhance their own gardens. The program provides a living classroom for multi-disciplinary learning and opportunities for social action.
Check out Toast dollars at work! YOU are enriching arts programming in our schools.
Your donations helped boost the Tap Dancing Program at Hillside School, growing the number of students who could learn and perform this special dance form.
4th grade students at Watchung School hosted a Kindergarten Math Night with the support of a grant awarded by MFEE.
Ms. Berman sent in this photo and message of gratitude, "We would like to thank the MFEE for their help supporting this new Watchung School tradition!"
MFEE Educational Excellence grants are funded by Toast to the Teachers. So if you host or attend a Toast in June, you are supporting fantastic educational experiences for our students!
Miriam Jacobs, Ms. Petrigliano, and Mr. Tucker received an MFEE Educational Excellence grant for a fantastic MHS art project. Students will use Spoonflower, an online tool, to create wrapping paper based on their own scratchboard designs inspired by various cultures. Once created, the wrapping paper will be sold for a fundraiser to support the art department.
We can't wait to see the final wrapping paper designed by talented MHS students!
