Your magical dollars at work! MFEE recently funded a project at Renaissance School to nurture future filmmakers and storytellers.
Under the guidance of teachers Joyce Korotkin and Jackie Collier Thomas, students will address key social and emotional challenges facing teens today and create PSAs that confront them.
MHS senior Alissa Brown is still carrying two wooden coins that she received in the MFEE Life After High School "Start Something!" Workshop led by Charles Rosen, founder NewARK Farms.
She explains the significance of the coins: “One says, 'The world is created for me.' The other says, 'I am but dust and ashes.' I've kept those coins in each of my pockets since the conference. They give me the drive to go forward without being too arrogant. Yes, this world is created for me and I can take full advantage of all of the opportunities it has to offer. But I am also but one part of the whole cycle and a bigger community.
MFEE recently funded a grant to purchase additional shop equipment that will not only boost MHS Robotics courses, but will also enhance the auto mechanics class.
You're nurturing future mechanics, engineers, and designers!
