November 2020: ShowUP Montclair
You showedUP for MFEE and the Montclair Public Schools!
Thank you to the talented acts, the donors, the families, the sponsors, the staff members, and every single person who bought a ticket and attended. Thanks to you, we have raised over $65,000 to support innovative programming in our schools!
ShowUP Montclair was everything we promised -- a night to celebrate genuinely talented members of our community and a night to laugh, cheer, and celebrate our Montclair Public Schools and staff.

What does $65,000 fund?
Your dollars fund a vibrant educational community that empowers the whole child, nurtures teacher innovation, strengthens families and brings our community together. All of this work is centered on providing equitable access to high quality education for all students. Your ShowUP dollars will also help fund Arts Open Hearts programs for our children. See below.
Arts Open Hearts programs leverage the arts to nurture students' social and emotional needs. MFEE is piloting programs that foster connections, nurture self-esteem, and provide an outlet for self-expression.
These programs continue during remote learning! They are more critical now than ever with the increase in student isolation and anxiety.
Just this week, Montclair High School English students began their work on the Intergenerational Story Slam with poets in residence. Check out the photos below! Poetry Slam workshops will begin next week, and a new songwriting program is in development for Glenfield!

A sneak peek behind the "virtual" scenes: ShowUP Montclair would not have been the same without its hilarious and enthusiastic hosts: Glenfield Vice Principal Frances Aboushi, Edgemont Principal and now MHS Principal-to-be Jeffrey Freeman, Amazing Fundracer 3rd Place Finishers Mike Burke and Dave Harrison. And of course, the amazing Dave Weil and his team at Five Eleven Productions who pulled it all together.
