Photos often speak louder than words.
Browse our photo gallery for a peek into MFEE's work. You'll see Grants in Action, fun at our fundraising events, Toast to the Teachers memories, and so much more!
MFEE Toasts to the Teachers is a long-standing tradition that not only helps raise critical funds to support our classroom grants, but also builds community by bringing us together to celebrate our school heroes.
The cutest gardeners! Nishuane School's Grow Lab is a school-wide gardening and hands-on science program, thanks to the MFEE Montclair DIGS initiative, PTA funding, engaged parents, and supportive teachers. The program brings students outdoors and uses experiential learning and scientific inquiry to help them observe and understand the natural world, practice environmental stewardship, and form healthy eating habits.
MFEE awarded the MHS Geoscience department a grant to enhance the science equipment in their classrooms. More digital scales = more hands-on learning!
Over the summer of 2017, MHS students were asked to read "Born a Crime," a memoir by Trevor Noah. Classes then had Book Chats to discuss this important novel about growing up biracial in apartheid South Africa.
MFEE is proud that we supported this project with funding to make sure that all MHS students were given the book.
Ms. Schatzman from Hillside School and Ms. Kozma from Glenfield Middle School gave a presentation to the MFEE Board about flexible/alternative seating.
Both teachers were grant recipients last year: Schatzman received funding for Hoki Stools, core balls, and Squishy seats; Kozma received funding for Standing Desks.
Both have seen real improvement in student attentiveness, behavior, and overall well-being using flexible seating in their classrooms.
Here are some of the fantastic community speakers and organizers who presented at our Life After High School Mini Conference. Their stories and wisdom are an incredible resource for teens.
