The fifth -- and FINAL -- edition of our Amazing FundRacer: The Quintessential Race was a success by every measure!
Thirty-six teams of FundRacers competed in a series of top-secret challenges all over town and raised $95,000 to support public education in our community!
Proceeds from this race allow us to invest in classroom innovation, equity grants, professional development for teachers, support for multilingual students, provide unique experiences and inclusive programming for our kids, and much more.
Congrats to our Final Four:
1st place: Team Dad Bod (Mike Glennon & Pat Degraff)
2nd place: Montclair's Finest (Scott McGrath & Corey Graves)
3rd place: Northeast's Ultimate Bike Bus (Walter Swett & Patrick Del Negro)
4th place: Dreamy and STEAM-Y (Mia Rodriquez-Vars & Sarah Skoler)
These winners get to enjoy gift baskets and major bragging rights, but all 72 FundRacers, 70 volunteers, 30 sponsors, and 916 donors have the satisfaction of knowing their grit, wit and sense of humor will help all 6,000 Montclair Public Schools students.
The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence could not do this work -- or pull off a wacky event like this -- without the support of our amazing community. From the high school students who built clue boxes and a winners podium in their carpentry class, and the parents who ran our challenge stations, to the board members who worked the grill at the after-party, and the courageous teachers, principals, parents, students and community members who competed: THANK YOU.
