Beginning in fall 2021, MFEE will launch an after-school component to Navegadores Escolares. Middle and high school students who are English Language Learners and/or need bilingual academic support will convene 2-3 times every week for tutoring, social interaction, and general support from high-school age bilingual students. The program has two halves: training and supervising the teen tutors, and working closely with the participating families and students to support their academic growth. As this is a new program, the Coordinator will have the opportunity to help design and shape the program. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Student Support program, including recruiting, on-boarding, and supervising the high school-aged tutors, communicating with families and students, and supervising the on-site programming. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with Latinx families and students to support educational engagement and enjoys working directly with teens and pre-teens. The ideal candidate will be excited to bring their energy and creative thinking to help design and shape this new initiative.
